About TMBC

Our mission at Together Making A Better Community is to empower and educate youth, families and the community by ensuring access to opportunities through events, programs and services.

Our hope is to shape a future where culture, courage, and opportunity meet to create leaders who transform neighborhoods, inspire change, and carry legacy forward.

Our History

Located in Davenport, IA, Together Making A Better Community (TMBC) was founded in 2016 by community leaders at Third Missionary Baptist Church. TMBC purchased the former Lincoln Elementary School at 318 E. 7th Street and reopened it as the TMBC Lincoln Resource Center.

Today, TMBC is both a movement and a place. The Lincoln Resource Center anchors programs, events, and partners, while TMBC’s mission reaches into schools, streets, and homes across the region. What began as a response to community needs is now a growing network that helps youth, families, and neighbors gain access, build skills, and lead the future of the Quad Cities.

Our Team.

How we work. We lead with care, act with integrity, and build with our community. We learn alongside young people, partner with families, and support local leaders. We believe strong relationships and consistent effort change outcomes. That is the culture that guides every program and every decision.
